ABOUT THE SUBJECT
★ The course Swadesh Adhyayan for AHSEC Higher Secondary first year and second year comprises of two different subjects i.e. History and Geography.
★ This new subject is a blend of History and Geography, aimed at introducing the new generation in the Arts Stream.
★ The History part of Swadesh Adhyayan includes eventful stretch of Assam History ranging from the days of Yandaboo Treaty to the formation of regional parties. It also includes the important events in Assam like the Peasant Uprising, The industries of Assam since the Pre-colonial ages, the formation of greater Assamese community and the problem of population explosion and the impact of pan India Revolutions on the state and many other important events in Assam History.
★ And the Geography part includes topics like the Brahmaputra, The demography of Assam, Biodiversity, Industries of Assam, Resources and Prospects and the concept of Map and many other important and interesting topics.
★ Students having the subject in Higher Secondary under AHSEC can study major in History and Geography. Two remarkable higher education institutions of Assam, namely Dibrugarh University and Gauhati University have already granted permission to have major either in History or in Geography in Degree level.
★ Moreover, the main textbooks of Swadesh Adhyayan are also beneficial for Civil Services Examinations (CSE), especially for aspirants of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The topics included in the course are very beneficial for any Competitive Examinations in Assam.
